One of the biggest interiors trends that has kept popping up in 2019 has been Terrazzo.
Terrazzo is composite material of marble chippings set into cement. It was created as a way to reuse the scrapped rock – so it’s sustainable too. Once the fragments are set, the surface is then polished to create a super-smooth finish.
Terrazzo has overtaken marble in popularity in interior design over the last few years and you can see why. The individuality, versatility and range of colours mean you can create a look which is bespoke.
What I love most about this trend is how many different ways you can add it to your home. If committing to relaying your flooring or tiling your bathroom seems too daunting, how about a striking feature wall by using this Terrazo-style wallpaper? It can also be added in subtly too if that’s your style.
Designers have started experimenting with Terrazzo as an abstract pattern rather than just using the material, so there have been more objects inspired by it in the last year. I have spotted lamps, cushion covers, kitchenware and even rugs, so there is lots of ways to embrace it within different rooms of your home. Here are some of my picks and I hope you love them too!

This trend may not be for everyone but I love that is a little quirky and thinking about how I can bring it into my home 🙂
